The mission of Family Promise of Cheyenne is to provide homeless families with emergency shelter.
Family Promise of Cheyenne assists homeless families with minor children. Family Promise of Cheyenne is the sole family only shelter in Laramie County and has partnered with local faith communities to provide shelter since 2001. Families living in their cars, in a trailer without heat and running water or in a motel on a night-by night basis are who we help.
About one-third of Wyoming’s homeless families are living in Cheyenne. 1 in every 4 homeless person in Wyoming is a minor. In Laramie County, every year, there are more than 200 homeless children in the school system. Homeless families with children in Laramie County continues to be a disturbing reality.
Family Promise of Cheyenne partners with numerous faith-based communities as well as Peak Wellness Center, Dads Making a Difference, Climb Wyoming, the Laramie County School Districts, and many other organizations and individuals in the community in order to serve families with children in need.
Family Promise of Cheyenne partners with numerous faith-based communities who provide shelter for children and their families’ experiencing homelessness on a weekly rotation.
Families receive comprehensive case management including assistance with resumes, job search and interviewing, locating affordable housing, and accessing additional community resources. The day program offers enrichment programs for the families, including budgeting, nutrition, parenting and relationship groups and preschool classes.
Families are referred to additional community resources based on their individual needs.
Families may receive emergency assistance such as food, diapers, and hygiene products, even if they are not able to enter the program.

Morgan Gray, Case Manager & Program Assistant –
Hi my name is Morgan Gray, I am so grateful to be working as a Program Coordinator at a wonderful non profit like Family Promise. I enjoy my job because I’m inspired by lives of great courage and faith of families who move towards their new life in our program. Each day I am taught of resilience thru the smiles of homeless children and their determined parents who navigate against the odds. Outside of work I am most likely watching a movie, riding my bike or kicking back with family at the lake or around the table. Although Cheyenne can be a bit windy, I don’t think I’m going anywhere!
